These terms cover your use of Scriptorium, a note-taking app for sermons and Bible study, for iPhone and iPad, operated by Qiseda Ltd. By downloading or using Scriptorium you agree to them; if you don't agree, don't use the app.
Scriptorium lets you write notes on sermons and Bible study, organise them into notebooks, and add Bible passages from the translations built into the app. Its related verses come from a public cross-reference list; they are suggestions, not teaching or commentary from us. We take care with the Bible text, but check anything that matters against a printed Bible.
What you write in Scriptorium is yours, and we claim no rights in it. Your notes are kept only on your device, where we can't see them, so we can't recover them if they're lost. Backing them up, through your device's iCloud Backup or a backup to a computer, is up to you.
Scriptorium is free, with no in-app purchases, subscriptions or ads.
Use Scriptorium for your own notes. Do not use it to break the law, do not try to break or interfere with the app, and do not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or build a competing product from it, except where the law says you may.
Scriptorium, its name, design and software belong to Qiseda Ltd. While these terms are in force we give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on your own devices. We do not grant you any other rights in it. The Bible translations, icons and cross-references in the app are public domain or used under their own licences, as credited in the app under Settings, then About & credits.
How we handle information is set out in our privacy policy. By using Scriptorium you agree to that policy.
We may update, add or remove features, and we may change or stop offering the app. Scriptorium needs a compatible iPhone or iPad; we cannot guarantee it will run on every device.
Except for anything we cannot exclude by law, Scriptorium is provided "as is" and "as available", without a guarantee that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, and so far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss we could not reasonably have foreseen, or for notes lost because a device was lost or erased without a backup. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
You can stop using Scriptorium at any time by deleting it, which also deletes its notes from that device. The licence in these terms ends when you stop using the app, or if you break these terms.
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws that apply where you live.
If we change these terms, we will update the effective date above, and a significant change will be reflected in the app or on this page. Continuing to use Scriptorium after a change means you accept the updated terms.
