Your notes

Where are my notes kept?

On your device, inside Scriptorium. There's no account and nothing is stored on our servers, so we can't see your notes and can't recover them for you.

Are my notes backed up?

Only as part of your device's own backup: iCloud Backup, or a backup to a Mac or PC. Restoring that backup onto a new device brings your notes with it. A device lost or erased with no backup loses its notes, and deleting Scriptorium deletes the notes on that device.

Can I see the same notes on my iPhone and iPad?

No. Each device keeps its own notes.

How do I share or export a note?

Open the note and tap Share. It goes as plain text, verses included, to any app or person you choose.

I deleted a note by mistake.

Tap Undo straight away, or open Trash (bottom left of the library, or in the sidebar on iPad) and tap Restore. Nothing leaves Trash until you restore it or delete it permanently.

Scripture

Which Bible translations are included?

Four, all public domain and built into the app, so they work offline: the King James Version (KJV), World English Bible (WEB), American Standard Version (ASV) and Berean Standard Bible (BSB). Pick the one new verses use in Settings, under Default translation. To change a single passage, press and hold it and choose Change translation.

Why isn't my usual translation there?

Most newer translations, such as the NIV and ESV, are licensed. Scriptorium includes only translations that are free for anyone to use; the Berean Standard Bible is the most recent of the four.

Privacy

Does Scriptorium collect any of my data?

No. Your notes stay on your device. The privacy policy has the detail.
